Passing a show to another consultant ?

I possibly have a conflict coming up with have a show I have scheduled. My director suggest I give it to a downline consultant. How do I explain to this to the host? Do I offer her the opp to reschedule first? I've never done this so what I am asking for are some good words to use... Thanks!

Let your host know that you have a conflict and tell her that you can either reschedule or you will find another consultant to take your place so the show can go on.

This is what I've done. Usually they reschedule if you have a relationship built. If they have lots of people already confirmed they may want to have the other consultant come in, but I always give them the option.



eta: It sounds like I do this all the time! I don't, but because of my full-time job, I've had to do this a few times because i've been asked to travel out of the province over a show day.
