Do you all send a welcome packet to your new consultants?
If so, what does it include?
I used to send a welcome letter and a "what to do while you wait for your kit" flyer/sheet in with it.
What all do you send?

I send them this. I think I got it from CS originally and then changed up some things.

Well, I have tried this, too.
Nothing was sent to me and lookit me now!!
I have been dealing with quite a few kitnappres...although those who've received packets have napped those kits just as quickly as those who've not received packets...hmmm.
Ok - what's the general concencus - how many of you sent an info packet and how many don't?
Do you see a difference in success rates (or kitnapping rates? LOL)
Am I just making extra work for myself?
Kristi...yours is in two parts...do you give them out at coaching meetings?

I send them the packet (usually via email) and then follow up with lots of phone calls. I rarely get a chance to coach in person so I set up weekly phone calls with all new consultants.

I guess I haven't been sending a letter because I've been following the call outline in the Guide to Coaching New Consultants and have been in touch that way....

They are and you're welcome! My Director and I are currently making changes to it because there is so much available online now. We're trying to not duplicate anything we don't need to. I'll be sure to post when we are done.
I'm sending a welcome email with the info on what to do while they wait for their kit. Then we hold New Consultant Training (my cluster, my director's cluster, and Leggy's cluster). The amount of effort they put into attending the classes is a decent indicator of how muh effort they're going to put into their business many times.

I've used Debi's outline in the past, but unfortunately not as consistently as I should. BUT I do give all my new recruits a little gift from me, a packet of starter business supplies: blank address labels to put on catalogs order forms etc., a box of red or green pens (less likely to walk off at a show), PC logo labels, a notebook for taking notes at meetings/trainings and/or a call log, a folder for receipts, and an empowering women magazine.

Ohhhh I love this idea! I never thought about putting together a welcome gift packet before, I'm going to try this out! :)

I haven't been sending a letter but I do give new consultants a gift at their first meeting and the Hat Pin when they qualify. I was also giving them a sheet of business cards too but haven't lately - need to get back to that.
I do call them to set up weekly calls and to learn more about them and to introduce myself (if I wasn't their recruiter) and follow that up with an email welcoming them to the team. I too follow the Guide to Coaching New Consultants.
Where do you all draw the line between your responsibility and the Recruiter's? I'm trying to figure that out, especially when I know the Recruiter isn't going to do what they should for the new Recruit.
Thanks!

I take the responisbility for all training but I invite the recruiter to be part of all of it. I encourage her to engage in it. Most of the time they do not get on the calls but I do copy them on emails and I share their recruit's progress.
When I am doing my welcome call I can tell what the recruiter is sharing by what the new recruit says and go from there. My FD's last recruit said "Sandy mentioned that" to so much that I told her that Sandy is getting close to being a director herself and as she (the recruit) can see by our conversation, Sandy is doing a great job of taking over new consultant training. I told her that Sandy would be guiding her but that I am just a phone call or email away if she needs me for anything. Of course, I then told Sandy that she's ready and that I was there for her support but I would not be doing the new consultant calls for Anita - that she would. I also got her the New Consultant training booklet (thanks Debbie!).
Anita has called me once since then with a question but I am sure that it's because Sandy wasn't available that evening and it was a need to know now question that rarely comes up for anyone - I'm sure that one would have stumped Sandy - I had the answer but did call HO to make sure I was correct.
